Webcam Interviews Dominate The Hiring Scene
Posted On Monday, August 24 2009 at 09:40 AM
InovaHire.com, the free job board reinventing the hiring approach for the digital age, and TokBox, the online communication leader, have partnered together to provide employers and job seekers with a free way to hire live online.
"Unlike video resumes, which are considered controversial and have not been accepted by corporate America, video interviews, or webcam interviews conducted live over the web have caught on quickly," says Tanya Willette, Co-Founder of InovaHire.com.
InovaHire.com offers employers and job seekers the ability to communicate live online with a webcam, for free. "Once the interview is scheduled, all you have to do is hook your webcam up to the computer and hit a "Proceed To Interview" button," says Willette. "The live interview takes place over your browser so you don't have to worry about downloading software and you don't have to worry about firewall issues."
Live webcam interviews allow employers and job seekers to control the interview process. Employers save time and money by not having to fly (or even bring in) three, four, five candidates for every one they hire; job seekers don't have to miss work or travel to complete the interview process.
Don't have a webcam? Not a problem! InovaHire.com doesn't require their users to use any particular make or model. "You can purchase a $10 webcam or you can purchase a $200 webcam," says Willette. "They all get the job done!"

I use TokBox for personal video chat. Cool idea to use it on a job board for interviews.
