Benefits of Temporary Jobs
Posted On Thursday, February 05 2009 at 02:47 PM
If you have a full-time, permanent position this is not an avenue you want to pursue. If you are currently unemployed, were laid-off, or are in between jobs, you should think about pursuing a temporary job.
Job Benefit #1: Build Your Network
Think about it, you are working at a new company and with new people. The possibilities are endless. Make a friend, grow your network! You never know when that person may need to use that person.
Job Benefit #2: Experience a New Company
You are placed at a company, you do not choose the company. Now, companies you would normally never consider, become your only option. Make the best of it, you may actually like working for them!
Job Benefit #3: Strengthen Your Resume
It is a myth to believe you won’t land a job because you have a temporary job on your resume. Think this one through. If you have been out of work for a while, you have two options: a) collect unemployment, or b) work. It will look much better to an employer if you show initiative!
Job Benefit #4: Could Turn Permanent
You were placed with an employer because they need employees. If you do a great job and can prove your talents, you may just end up receiving an offer by the end of your contract!
